Note: This is a follow-up from the last post, “It was a Break-In.” It’s a topic that can be applied to any situation we’re facing in life that is stealing our peace. For anyone who’s lost their peace, I pray that this will restore it.
I have been asked several times after the break-in, how am I doing? Am I okay? Am I dealing with fear? The answer is I’m good. There have been moments when I have felt anxious, but that’s okay because I’m fighting for my peace and I am determined to win!
Two days after the break-in, Bishop T.D. Jakes released a podcast titled, “When Anxiety Attacks”. It spoke to what I had been going through and was extremely impactful. In it he says, “…if it got thru your fence and climbed over your wall…” he had my full attention! It’s like he read my mail because that’s literally what happened, they broke through my fence so they could climb onto retaining wall…
Since then, I’ve shared the podcast with several people who have expressed their appreciation as it has helped them too. So, I’m sharing a YouTube link to it which is twenty-eight minutes long (including four minutes of commercials): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StxzSdSqg0c. I encourage you to watch it as it will be time well spent.
Isn’t it interesting that in order to beat anxiety you need weapons? We are under attack and Satan wants to steal our peace, so we need to fight to keep it. It’s definitely a fight that each of us is equipped to win with God.
Pastor Charles R. Swindoll once stated, “I’m convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…. We are in charge of our attitudes.” We can control how we react to these situations and not let it control us.
Don’t stay silent! Fight for your peace with 1) Prayer, 2) Supplication, and 3) Thanksgiving.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 (ESV)
My prayer for you is what Bishop T.D. Jakes taught on, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” from Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV).
Thank you for your time. Be Blessed… LR Maddox
