I bet you’re wondering, “What is this about?”
Well, I’m finally getting back to the “Be Inspired” series. Since it’s been a while, here’s a brief recap of a few key post entries:
• What’s Lighting You Up? – Be an inspiration.
• Are you Ready? – Be willing to be used by God to inspire others.
• Don’t Forget! – Put God in your plans; ask Him for guidance and wisdom.
• Age is just a number Part 1 & Part 2 – No matter your age, don’t let it stop you.
• It Started with a Mouse – Don’t overlook small things. They could be pivotal to your dream.
• I’ve got one! – Test the dream.
• Test Results – It passed the test, so don’t let Satan take it from you. Hear, trust, & obey God.
• Write It Down! – Take the 1st tangible step and write your dream (Habakkuk 2:1-2 ESV).
The next step continues in Habakkuk 2:3 (TLB), “But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!”
This scripture is very clear! Once you write your vision down, you’re not going to blink and then all of sudden begin living your dream. No, it will happen steadily over time. It will be on God’s time and it won’t be late. He’s doing work in the background to get everything ready which he stated in Isaiah 45:2a (AKJV), “I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight...”
What do you need to do? The first piece of advice is to not despair, which means do not lose “hope” (<== read about Hope). The second piece is to be patient which had an exclamation point to indicate this is crucial. Proverbs 19:2 (ESV) gives a warning to those who are impatient, “Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.” Don’t be hasty and lose your dream before it begins! It’s great to be excited about it but spend time to pray for insight/direction, do research, get educated, and write down what God’s telling you.
Here’s some sound advice from Henry Ford (Automaker), “Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success.”
When it feels like your dream is taking a long time to be fulfilled, I pray that this scripture will encourage you, “So don’t be impatient for the Lord to act; keep moving forward steadily in his ways, and he will exalt you at the right time. And when he does, you will possess every promise, including your full inheritance…” Psalm 37:34 (TPT)
Thank you for your time. Be Blessed… LR Maddox
