Lives again our glorious King:
Where, O Death, is now thy sting?
Once He died, our souls to save:
Where thy victory, O Grave? – Charles Wesley
(section taken from the Easter Hymn)
Easter reads like a script to a Hollywood movie with sacrifice, betrayal, death, resurrection life, and love.
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.” Mark 16:6 NIV
But instead of being a “made up” story, this event actually happened. Some may ask, “Why would Jesus die for us?” Titus 2:14 NLT says, “He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”
The primary reason for His sacrifice was for love. “For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” John 3:16 (TPT)
My prayer for you is if you haven’t already, is to receive the love of God and believe in the gift given to us, by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
