“You’ll never find choice fruit hanging on a bad, unhealthy tree. And rotten fruit doesn’t hang on a good, healthy tree. Every tree will be revealed by the quality of fruit that it produces… People are known in this same way…” ― Luke 6:43-45 (TPT)
In the last post, we talked about “What are You Reflecting?” which addressed what was stored in our heart. So, let’s continue with Luke 6:45 (TPT) for our next point, “…For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.”
The second point is our fruit. The previous verse told us that a tree is known by the “quality” of fruit it produces and people are kept to the same standard. This means if your heart is healthy (love), then so are is your fruit. If it’s unhealthy (hate, anger, etc.), then your fruit is rotten.
What type of fruit should I be producing? In Galatians 5:22-23 (TLB) it says, “when the Holy Spirit controls our lives He will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…”
Thankfully, by changing our hearts to be of love, then God will help us to begin producing superb fruit that is seen by all.
As we continue on this path to learn to love ourselves, let’s go after the best fruit!
“Why not go out on a limb? Isn’t that where the fruit is?” ― Frank Scully
