Stay Encouraged – Did You Ask?

Prayer is not only asking but an attitude of mind which produces the atmosphere in which asking is perfectly natural.” – Oswald Chambers

Decisions, adjustments, reactions! They have become constant for us over these last few months while addressing new guidelines and impacts due to the coronavirus. We can become weary just trying to make the right decisions.

We need to take a deep breath and remember that we have help from the one who knows what is best for us.  We just need to ASK.

What should we do? “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you, for he is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask him; he will not resent it.” – James 1:5 (TLB)

Warning, ensure your motives are pure! James 4:2-3 (CEB) states, “You long for something you don’t have, so you commit murder. You are jealous for something you can’t get, so you struggle and fight. You don’t have because you don’t ask You ask and don’t have because you ask with evil intentions, to waste it on your own cravings.

So, do not be arrogant!  Do not assume that you know everything and can do it by yourself.  Be humble, and make sure your reasons are genuine. Then ask God to direct you.

God is waiting for you to do it. “Remember, your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” –Matthew 6:8 (TLB)

Here’s my prayer for you, “We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through every kind of spiritual wisdom and insight.  We ask this so that you will live the kind of lives that prove you belong to the Lord. Then you will want to please him in every way as you grow in producing every kind of good work by this knowledge about God. Amen.” – Colossians 1:9 (GW)
