Calm in the CRAZY – Part 2

Even the Lone Ranger didn’t do it alone.Harvey MacKay

Well, COVID is still around, the enemy continues to attack, and what’s been happening is not a dream but reality, so let’s continue on the voyage of “how to stay calm in the C-R-A-Z-Y.”

In the last post (Part 1), I addressed the ‘C’ in crazy, putting my faith, hope, & trust in God and Jesus Christ.  So, how can you do this?

The answer takes us to the next point (letter R), having a Relationship with God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Like any significant personal relationship, you must invest time and effort getting to “know” them, what they are all about (thoughts, beliefs, likes/dislikes, personality, etc.).  Through this, you build trust, faith, and hope in them.  The same approach applies here; let’s look at some key points:

  • Spend Quality Time – Read the Bible as it will help you learn about them, what has been promised to you, how you should conduct yourself, your authority/power, etc.

1 Timothy 4:15 MEV, “Meditate on these things. Give yourself completely to them, that your progress may be known to everyone.”

  • Communication – Pray (it is a conversation, so be sure to listen), thankfulness, praise, and worship.

Colossians 3:16 TLB, “Remember what Christ taught, and let his words enrich your lives and make you wise; teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing to the Lord with thankful hearts.”

  • Commitment – Do it daily! Begin with a few minutes and increase over time.
  • Support – Attend church, get around other Christians for encouragement, and help others.  Do what is reasonable during COVID.

Hebrews 10:25 TLB, “Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.”

If you want to achieve calmness while chaos thrives around you, start by working on your Relationship.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” –  Ephesians 3:16-17, 19 NLT
