“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” – Charles Dickens
While everyone can agree that this year has been unprecedented on numerous levels, the amount of time spent addressing the impacts and issues has been overwhelming for many. To combat this, we have spent time over the last few weeks discussing “how to stay calm in the C-R-A-Z-Y.” Today’s post is not the next installment in the series, although it is a supplement.
Lately, we keep hearing the phrase “COVID Fatigue” because many are tired of dealing with continual problems and restrictions. When we begin feeling fed up, it is a true indication that we do not appreciate the good things in our lives. We have forgotten to be thankful for what we do have.
Being grateful is the tool to change our attitude. Gerald Good stated, “If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily.”
So, let us follow the instructions in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 TLB, “No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you…” Whether good or bad times, we need to be grateful constantly.
My prayer is that each of us will intentionally set aside a quiet moment daily and reflect on what we are thankful for. This will help keep us on the path to stay calm in the CRAZY.
Thank you for your time. Be Blessed… LR Maddox
