“What is behind your eyes holds more power than what is in front of them.” – Gary Zukav
For many, going into 2021 feels like it is still 2020. Seeing the same issues and even new ones can begin to diminish their hope.
Regardless of what is happening, we need to step into the new year determined to have a new or refreshed outlook. We need to have Christ’s viewpoint. Colossians 3:2 CSB tells us to, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
What should we think on? We are instructed in Philippians 4:8 TPT, “So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.”
My prayer for us is to view each day as Christ does. Let us take to heart the Message (MSG) version of Colossians 3:1-2, “…Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.”
Thank you for your time. Be Blessed… LR Maddox
