“Seek God’s guidance. Leave the outcomes to Him. Enjoy the peace of understanding that ‘God’s got this.’” – Faye Horton
Previously, I talked about feeling overwhelmed while facing an unfamiliar course in my life and realizing that I needed help. So, I asked God for wisdom (see I Need Help!). Next, I discussed what to do when there appear to be multiple solutions to a given problem (see Choose Which One?). Now, this leads us to the final step to ensure we are making the correct choice.
The last filter I apply when faced with choosing the best option is whether I have peace about it. Jesus left us an inheritance of a “special peace” that we should access when addressing any situation. He tells us about it in John 14:27 TLB, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
I definitely want His gift for peace of mind and heart! So, if I do not have it regarding a decision, then God’s not in it. It is not the right choice, and I do not move forward with it. I start over again through steps #1 and #2 until I have His peace about a choice.
If you have been without peace while dealing with any situation, I encourage you to take and trust the gift Jesus gave you. He is waiting for you to access it.
My prayer for us is found in Colossians 3:13 AMP, “Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]…”
