Be Counted (Live Wisely)

Blessed are they who seek to learn wisdom.” – Ezra Taft Benson

Since we have decided to intentionally live wisely so that we are making a positive difference not only in our lives but most importantly to those we come in contact with, let’s proceed by getting some advice from God’s word.

In James 3:13-16 (MSG) it says, “Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish plotting. Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.”

These verses are a “drop the mic” moment. They tell us what we need to do to be considered wise and which behaviors are not.

My prayer is that God’s words will continue to motivate you to be counted as wise because the alternative will prevent us to do better as we move forward.

Thank you for your time. Be Blessed… LR Maddox
