“Wisdom is a treasure, the key whereof is never lost.” – Edward Counsel
Most of this year, we’ve been discussing various topics related to wisdom because of the uncharted course God put me on over 14 months ago. The challenge of facing difficult situations and the need to make quick, competent decisions was overwhelming, which produced the first three topics in the series: I Need Help!, Choose Which One??, and Got Peace?
Following that, I began reflecting on the fractures that occurred throughout our nation during 2020 and asked the question, “How can we do better as we move forward?” And the answer to “live a wise life” led to two topics: It’s Our Lifestyle and Be Counted.
To Live Wisely, we need to understand what God says about it, so we looked at the definitions in James 3:17 (TLB) in topics: #1 – Wisdom is, #2 – Wisdom is, #3 – Wisdom is, #4 – Wisdom is, and #5 – Wisdom is.
Choosing wisdom leads to valuable benefits, and when we do not, we face misfortune. We see this in Proverbs 9:11-12 TPT, as it says, “Wisdom will extend your life, making every year more fruitful than the one before. So it is to your advantage to be wise. But to ignore the counsel of wisdom is to invite trouble into your life.” I encourage you to ask, seek, and apply wisdom!
Finally, let’s wrap up with a prayer found in Ephesians 1:17 TPT, “I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him.”
