“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” ― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
In the prior post, we concluded that “joy is produced by the grace of God and is not defined by temporary human emotions,” which confirms that the origin of true joy is Divine.
We see this mentioned in the following scriptures:
- 1 Chronicles 16:27 (ESV) – Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place.
- Psalm 16:11 (ESV) – You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
These verses show that in God’s presence is complete, absolute joy. From this, we can say that God IS the giver of real joy.
Ann Voskamp said something very compelling on this topic, “True saints know that the place where all the joy comes from is far deeper than that of feelings; joy comes from the place of the very presence of God. Joy is God and God is joy and joy doesn’t negate all other emotions – joy transcends all other emotions.”
So, let’s continue to discover more about joy produced by the grace of God as we continue to “focus on joy.”
