“Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish; Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.” ― Thomas Moore
In the last post, “Joy during Trials,” we mentioned three crucial factors regarding joy. And if we operate in each of them, we can have joy in every situation, even in times of sorrow.
So, it is no surprise that when we face periods of grief and pain, God gives us comfort and joy:
1. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow]” – Psalm 147:3 AMP
2. “…Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” – Psalm 30:5 NLT
3. “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!” – Psalm 126:5 ESV
During these difficulties, let’s remember to pray and ask God for His support. Then our pain will become joy. We see this in Psalm 30:10-12 NLT:
“Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me.
Help me, O LORD.
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!”
Please join me next time as we continue to “focus on joy.”
[Joy is => inner gladness, delight, calm delight, or even rejoicing.]
