“We can choose to live in joy.” ― Joseph Campbell
Earlier in the series, we learned that joy is a gift of God that we access through His Spirit for those who belong to Christ. And that we can have complete joy daily by reading and obeying God’s Word (the Bible).
So, we see that joy is available to us, but the bottom line is that we have to choose it.
“Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.” ― Henri Nouwen
We are familiar with the beginning of James 1:2 (NKJV), but it’s good to repeat it, “My brethren, count it all joy….” It means to include each and everything as joy!
“Find joy in everything you choose to do. Every job, relationship, home… it’s your responsibility to love it, or change it.” ― Chuck Palahniuk
Let us be diligent as Ana Castillo when she said, “Our goal should be to achieve joy.”
Please join me next time as we continue to “focus on joy.”
[Joy is => inner gladness, delight, calm delight, or even rejoicing.]
