“Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace.” ― Pope Francis
We were given a precious gift from God based on His love for us, His Son. John 3:16 TLB states, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Upon the arrival of God’s Son, it brought a joy beyond measure, “But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people. For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah).” Luke 2:10-11 AMP
This incredible joy was famously expressed in a song written by Isaac Watt, which opens with, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come, let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room…” ― Joy to the World
I hope we will share this love and joy with others every day. Additionally, my prayers for you this Christmas are as follows:
“Christmas day is a day of joy and charity. May God make you very rich in both.” ― Phillips Brooks
“May the Christmas season fill your home with joy, your heart with love, and your life with laughter.” ― Anon
“The light of the Christmas star to you,
The warmth of home and hearth to you,
The cheer and good will of friends to you,
The joy of a thousand angels to you,
The love of the Son,
And God’s peace to you.” ― Irish Christmas Blessing
Please join me next time as we conclude our journey to “focus on joy.”
[Joy is => inner gladness, delight, calm delight, or even rejoicing.]
