“Words can INSPIRE and words can DESTROY. Choose YOURS well.” ― Robin Sharma
In the last two posts, we’ve looked into what is stored in our heart and seen by our fruit. Now, let’s continue in Luke 6:45 (TPT) for the final point, “…For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.”
What are you saying to yourself or even about yourself? Is it negative? Does it sound like, “I can’t…”, “I’m a failure…”, “I’m ugly…”etc.? The words you speak have such power that they have a direct impact on your life, whether good or bad. Proverbs 18:21 ESV says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”
We can be our worst critic, but we need to learn how to be our best cheerleader.
As we go through the process of our hearts being changed to be of love, let’s speak “life” over ourselves by saying positive words. We should proclaim what God says about us and for us! Dig into the scriptures and find what you need, it’s in there. For example, Philippians 4:13 (GWT) states, “I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.”
While continuing on this path of learning to love ourselves and changing how we should speak, let’s have God assist us. One of my favorite scriptures to pray is found in Psalms 19:14 ESV, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD…”
