“The Word of God is the source of man’s strength, wisdom, and joy.” ― Janet Fuller
To briefly summarize the last three posts, we learned that joy is a gift of God that we access through His Spirit for those who belong to Christ. So how do we equip ourselves?
Jesus said in John 15:11 ESV, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” Also, 1 John 1:4 NKJV says, “And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”
We can have complete joy daily by reading and obeying God’s Word (the Bible).
“If you want to have sustained joy, you have to not only make sure that you think right, but you also have to make decisions now that are going to guarantee some joy in the future.” – Joyce Meyer
Joyce tells us that to achieve continual joy, we need to think and make choices in a “correct” way so that our future will have it too. The only way to do that is by studying God’s Word.
So, let’s ensure we have this never-ending joy by following the example in Jeremiah 15:16 NLT, “When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.”
Please join me next time as we continue to “focus on joy.”
[Joy is => inner gladness, delight, calm delight, or even rejoicing.]
